Annual LatCrit Conference (ALC)
The Annual LatCrit Conferences (ALC) began to take shape after the
Colloquium organized by the Law Professor Section of the Hispanic National
Bar Association(HNBA) in 1995 and held in San Juan Puerto Rico. Now
in their eleventh year, are designed to spur the critical, cross-disciplinary
study of Latinas/os as a multiply diverse and transnational social group,
and in relationship to other social groups subordinated socially and/or
legally. The conferences are planned ahead in two-year cycles: LatCrit
XI was hosted by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas William S. Boyd
School of Law, and met in Las Vegas during October 5-8, 2006; and LatCrit
XII will be hosted by the College of Law, Florida International University
in Miami during October 4-7, 2007. The Annual Conferences are organized
by a Project Team, and membership is open to anyone. The Annual Call
for Papers, Panels and Participation is issued each spring. For more
